On November 3, 2020, the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) published its preliminary ruling of the anti-dumping duty investigation on the imports of m-Cresol from the US, the EU and Japan (Announcement No. 50). The ruling finds that m-Cresol imported from the above countries (regions) was dumped, there has been injury to the Chinese industry, and there is a causal link between dumping and such injury. It is decided that, as of November 6, 2020, a cash deposit at rates between 27.9% and 131.7% will be collected for m-Cresol imported from the above countries (regions)
Based on petitions filed by the Chinese m-Cresol industry, MOFCOM published an announcement on July 29, 2019, launching andi-dumping duty investigation on imports of m-Cresol from the above countries (regions). After case filing, MOFCOM has carried out the investigation strictly in accordance to relevant Chinese laws and regulations, as well as relevant WTO rules, and has made the above affirmative ruling, based on preliminary investigation.
